privately if on qualifying benefits or tax credits, or if over 70, or if
main income is the state pension.
Grants, of around 45-55% rising to 75%, are available - whatever
your income - for loft or cavity wall insulation and of 100% if you satisfy
the eligibility criteria.

How to check if your property is suitable for cavity wall insulation:
It will have been built after the 1920's.
Many inner London properties are NOT suitable.
In the case of brick constructed houses if the bricks are all laid “side-on”
and the walls are about 300mm (12in) thick, they probably have cavities.
Its brick pattern will be similar to that seen below.
If they have a regular pattern of “side on and end on” brickwork
they are usually 225mm (9in) - or the brick length - thick and more likely
to be solid walls:
